It's Been A While

Good evening. This is my first blog with Blogger! I had a blog on tumblr, but I would get so busy with life and UGA transit buses that I always forget to make a post or two.

Welcome to my Blogger version of "Dear Sam and Francesca": Southern Leo Triumvirate. This is where I am going to let loose and express how I am feeling about a lot of things- life, powerlifting, work, school, family, God and society. On tumblr, my page was called "Dear Sam and Francesca" in honor of two amazing friends that I lost in my life years ago. They were my backbone and we were always one, even in separate geographical areas. I have accepted that God wanted them to be with Him and have made the most of my life without my brother and sister from another mother. This is the basis to the name Southern Leo Triumvirate- we're Southerners, we were all born in August and all 3 of us are a part of each other.

It has been a while since I have expressed to the world what I am doing with myself. Let's see if I can catch you all up. I recently graduated from The University of Georgia and now I am preparing for my life as a law student at North Carolina Central University. It is a drastic change leaving my home state, but it is an adventure that I plan to nourish. Until the day that I leave, I am down at home in Americus, Georgia attempting to make the most out of my summer. My day is simply- gym, cleaning, tv and bed. Sad to say, this is not the summer that I was planning. I could expand on each one of those activities, but I am not going to bore you all with that; I'll do just one.

Gym. It is definitely the most interesting part of my day. To transition from Ramsey to SWGA is a big transition (in some sort), but I have to make the most of it. On my tumblr (which I need to delete at some point), you all saw that I had a knack for powerlifting. I am still continuing with that hobby today in such a way that it is what I think about--- 60% of the time, at least. I think that trainer of mine Brooks did a great job corrupting me, and that's ok. It gives me something to keep me occupied and healthy (and who wouldn't want that). I am currently working on my long term goals of a 700 raw squat, 500 raw bench and 750 raw deadlift by April 2014. As structured as I am, I try to keep those 3 numbers in my head the entire time and not think about the social aspect. I do a very good job focusing on form and strength when the meatheads that surround me take a back seat. I have accepted that I am going to come across those who have big egos, who are very competitive and whose heads are bigger than their raw totals-- and I'm ok with that. It's all a part of my mental construction of eliminating distractions. The road to getting to those 3 numbers is going to be long, but that's the part that I enjoy most since I'm learning more and more about what I am capable of doing and what I need to work on. I also would like to expand to other federations, but that's waaay in the future.

This is all of my first Blogger. Hopefully I can do this more and speak of my adventures in life. Until next time, I'll leave you all with some words:

"Vous ne vous plaignez pas de la route en face de vous, mais vous célébrez dans quelle mesure vous êtes venus sur cette route." (Don't complain about the road in front of you, but celebrate how far you have come)

Later,

Frank
